TOO Huge FOR THOMAS TRAIN SET
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This table is made of wood and looks pretty durable, but it was too huge for my son’s Thomas train set. Now we need to add a lot more of train set extras because it is really huge. The drawer was one of the reasons why we bought this table, but it is very small and also doesn’t slide in and out smoothly. My 2 year ancient son has a hard time opening the drawer, and it is too small to hold his train set. I’m sure it will last a long time but I am dissapointed at the moment.

My son and daughter like the table! it is universal, was simple to place together, and very durable! Only downfall is that it only has one draw for storage. Though I bought a bunch of bins with lids that fit nicely under it, so it works!

    excellent product

Excellent size table, you can place a castle set or trainset and will still have room for your lego. It is stable and has a lot of room bottom for your storage containers. The drawer is a small small and it is kind of hard to open and close. My 3year ancient got frustrated when she could not open it. Overall it a excellent product and worth the money.

    Grandson likes it!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this table for my 3 year ancient grandson for Christmas this year. He particularly questioned me for a train table (he likes his Thomas trains) so I spent quite a bit of time researching different tables online. Some were really expensive (the Thomas ones were the most $$), others were really cheap. This table was right in the middle price-wise, and I like the Melissa and Doug brand. It arrived really quick and I chose to place it together (who wants a box with a picture on it for a Christmas present?) and it wasn’t too complicated, it took me about 45 minutes by myself. The instructions were excellent. I reckon that it is sturdy enough to last him for years, it is well made and a excellent value. I covered it with a huge xmas bag and my grandson was very excited to see that on Christmas morning. So far it seems to be holding up well in the weeks since he got it, the only problem is that it is in his room, and he thinks he can play with his trains instead of going to sleep at night! My daughter uses a dirt bike cover and tucks it in bottom at night, and that has solved that problem!

Very Cheaply Made — came apart during assembly
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I have always been impressed with Melissa & Doug’s prouducts. This is a huge dissappointment. I have place together furniture from Ikea and Pottery Barn in less time than it took me to place together just the drawer. This was not worth the effort.

I have spent over an hour trying to assemble the table, and due to the table’s inferior manufacturing and materials, I haven’t even gotten past the second of 15 pages of assembly instructions. The drawer seems to be made of fiber board, and not very sturdy fiber board. The holes drilled for the screws were not aligned properly, so the sides of the drawer were bent. The slots for the bottom of the drawer did not line up either, so the drawer bottom stuck out past the front of the drawer. No amount of gentle tapping would push the bottom into the back of the drawer far enough. While I was trying to get it to align properly, one of the screws holding the sides to the back popped through the fiber board!

Having sunk an hour on two pages, I did the math, and it’s not worth the further 6.5 hours it could take to get the rest of it functional. I will be returning this product.

Oh, and the assembly instructions have a 1-800 number on them. It’s not much use to me, since it was closed after my kids went to bed, and I am trying to assemble this for Christmas morning. I won’t be calling it while the kids are awake, or I’ll spoil the surprise. Back it goes!

We like this table. We should have gotten it years ago. For some reason my husband didn’t reckon it was worth it for our girls (now ages 6, 8, and 9 1/2) but he let me get it for our 3 1/2 yr. ancient son. The girls use it more than he does. It always has Playmobile, Legos, Tiniest Pet Shop or something on it. All those things used to be all over the floor! It’s fantastic!

    Fantastic except for drawer
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This train table is nearly perfect. I like the table top and it seems pretty well constructed, except for the drawer. It doesn’t slide in and out well and I can imagine it will fall apart after several months of use. We’re just avoiding using the drawer when all's said and done. Would have earned five starts otherwise. Would still buy again.

    excellent play table
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
this a excellent play table. bought it for my daughter to play with her various toys. she likes to pull the drawer out and use it as a seat so that shows how well built this table is. it’s fantastic for toddlers.

  9. J. Glaza Says:

Looks better than other tables but chips easily
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I like the modern look of the table but have some complaints. It has limited storage, the actual top is a small flimsy and the sides chip very easily. It looked a small beat-up even right after we assembled. I guess it didn’t even handle shipping that well, so hopefully your toddler is going to be simple on it!

    Fantastic table for the money
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
We bought the Melissa and Doug activity table for my son’s third birthday. We are using it as a table for his Thomas train set and so far it is working out well. My husband assembled the table and said it was quite simple to place together. Only two minor cons: 1. you have to lift the drawer up as you pull it open, otherwise it sticks 2. the table top consists of two separate pieces so you end up with a seam down the middle. I’ve found that the Thomas track doesn’t lay completely flat over the seams but not enough to make major problems. Overall it seems to be a fantastic product.

Looks terrible after nearly a year
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
We haven’t had this table for even a year yet and the white perimeter is all chipped and the green table is all scratched up. This is with normal play on it not any unusually rough playing. Now it looks very hideous and I regret buying it. Poor quality!

    Quality Product. Simple to Assemble.
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Bought two of these tables. Assembly was simple. The pieces were machined well and fit together perfectly. The instructions were very detailed and simple to follow. This is a very sturdy and safe table that was designed very well. I like that the drawer can be opened, but not removed. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a table for their children.

    Melissa and Doug Multi-Activity Table
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The box arrived in very excellent condition from the supplier (Stout Brain Toys) and was very simple to place together. I am very impressed by the drawer design, which includes a dowel on the inside to keep is running smoothly. The drawer was a small tight at first, but loosened up enough after 5-6 openings that our 2-year ancient had no problem opening it. If would be nice if there was two drawers (side by side) to provide more storage. But it is still very nice the way it is.

A nice gift for my grandson…
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This table was shipped from the retailer. It went to my grandson’s house and it was simple for his parent’s to place together. It is attractive and sturdy and he uses it for a variety of games and toys. The toughest thing is to keep him off of the table, for some reason he thinks he must climb on it (his 2 year ancient sister also) but the table has withstood the wear and tear.

The table was very simple to assemble with two people. The drawer was the only problem. It did not fit in the space cut out for it very well. Other than that a fantastic buy and perfect for trains, projects, and imaginary play.

    Activity Table
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We use this table as s train table for our 4 year ancient, and he likes it. It is huge enough in size to handle many tracks, and it has one drawer for extra track pieces or trains. We used a combination of Melissa & Doug tracks and Thomas tracks, and all work fantastic together. We are very satisfied with our buy of this table. The table is also very durable and well place together.

We recently got this table for our sons (ages 4 and 2) for their trains and they like it. It can be a small hard to set up the train bridges because they don’t fit across the table very well, and we thought it would fit more track on it, but it is wonderful to be able to have the trains set up all of the time for them to play with easily.

This table is fantastic for setting up a doll house or train set. The drawer comes in handy for all the intricate (furniture)parts that might otherwise get lost. It’s very durable and arrived in erfect condition.

    Fantastic Table Fantastic Price

Bought this for my 3 year ancient son, who has just recently learned Thomas the Train. He likes the table. The table is very nice looking and is easily transported from room to room (with hardwood floors and marble).

Nice table for small kids to play on
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The table comes in multiple pieces with a lot of screws, but it is labeled well and simple to place together. It is the first time I’ve seen an allen key contained in a product that is “S” shaped to allow you to screw in the allen key quicker.

Overall, my kids like the table because they play with their wood train set on it and the height is excellent for a 3 to 5 year ancient.

The only negative I found was when I went the table, I noticed it stressed two of the sides where a bolt was at and nearly caused the bolt/nut to push through the wood, so be careful when you go it.

Fantastic Table Without the Huge Price Tag!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
A few months back we looked into purchasing a similar table made by the folks that make the Thomas toys. After finding out how much it was, we started looking for alternatives. A local leisure activity shop had this table setup in their store for show purposes but didn’t sell it. After seeing my son play with the trains on the table and realizing it was just the perfect height for him, I went hunting.

We bought this table as a Christmas gift for our nearly 3 year-ancient son. It was extremely simple to build… so much so that we were able to do it quietly on Christmas Eve. The construction is solid and a fantastic quality. My only complaint is that the drawer sits a small low and you have to pull it up a bit when you pull it out. Even that is a very minor thing though so I’m not sure it’s a complaint.

The best part to me is that there is nothing painted already for you on this table. My son can continue to use this as he gets older for just about anything.

Bottom line… if you’re looking for an activity table, a table for a train set, or just a place to get some toys up off the floor and onto something a small simpler to reach for your small one… this is the table for you!

    Fantastic Value
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This table exceeded our expectations. We were debating between PVC and solid wood. I called Melissa and Doug directly and if for some reason the table does not hold up with normal use they will replace the broken parts. I figured we had nothing to lose. My husband place it together in about 40 minutes and without the top on it is simple for us to go around the house. The drawer is an added bonus because it more than holds his tain set. Fantastic table for the price!

    SO Fantastic!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My husband place the table together in a half hour…seems pretty durable and is the perfect height for our 15mo ancient. He can easily play with the train set on it. Green board is really two sections…making it simple to go by yourself.

Doug and Melissa Activity Table is a fantastic value
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My son got this table for his Thomas trains this Christmas and he likes it. The in rank to assemble it are a small convoluted, but you can figure it out easily enough from the extensive diagrams provided with the instructions. It feels a small shaky until you get it placed where you want it and lay the tabletop boards in. It is more solid after that and ready to go. Fits Thomas wooden railway configurations perfectly and nicer price tag than the Thomas brand one. I’d recommend this activity table for the value.

    Activity Table
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We got this for Christmas mainly for a train table for our 18-month ancient son. It’s just the right height for him and it seems to be very durable.

I like that it’s the type of table where you can do craft actions or a puzzle or set up the train. It’s not limited to a train table.

There was a small bit of an issue putting it together. It seems the holes were not manufactured to line up but it was workable. They could have done a better job with that. The drawer could be larger too. That’s probably my main complaint. There is all that extra space bottom and just a tiny drawer.

    I li

Overall, we do like it. It’s a fantastic table. Honestly simple for us to go. Fantastic height. Plenty huge and it looks fantastic. I would recommend it.

Much better than spending hundreds for Brio
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We bought this train set for my nearly three year ancient. When you look at what you would spend for a Brio (the brand linked with Thomas the Tank Engine) you are looking at hundreds of dollars. My daughter is 31 inches tall and it’s perfect for her height. The table takes about an hour to place together and it is much simpler if you have two people doing the assembly rather than one. The two minor things I would point out is that it is simple to mark the white parts of the train table…I lightly drug the allen wrench that came with the table across the surface and it left a silver colored scratch I could not get out. Also, be careful not to over tighten the barrel nuts or you could split the part made out of particle board. Those may sound like negatives, but they are very minor and I gladly would trade spending $75 for this instead of the hundreds for the Brio and not get a noticeable or significant increase in quality.

    Fantastic table
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Bought this table for my son’s 3rd birthday. Wasn’t too sure we picked the right one (we were thinking about getting the Kid Kraft one instead). But my husband and I are very pleased with this table. It’s very durable. It was a breeze to place together. My husband even said that it took less time than he had expected…less than an hour. And it’s a nice looking table as well. I am extremely pleased that we choose this table and would recommend it to anyone.

I had a wonderful experience ordering this table. The vendor was qualified and the item arrived promptly (not always the case living in HAwaii). The table was in excellent condition and was simple to place together. My daughter is having a fantastic time with it!

  29. B. Wells Says:

    Decent table for the money
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
As the price indicates, this isn’t a high-quality table. But, it serves its purpose. We preferred to spend more money on a nice train set, and save some cash by getting a lower-end table. The pros are that it is very roomy and has a storage drawer which accommodates our 130-piece set. The cons are that it is already showing several scuff marks on the white paint, and it’s only a month ancient. It was extremely simple to assemble, and took about 30-45 minutes. Note that it is quite low to the ground. Our two-year-ancient has to be on his knees to play with it. So, if you’re looking for a table that your child can stand at, this one’s not for you.

  30. M. Gray Says:

Sturdy multi-functional table that looks fantastic!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this table because it was plain enough to use with a variety of toys (doll house, train, puzzles, etc.). It took my husband 2 hours to place together (LOL), but it is very sturdy and had a fantastic pull-out drawer on one side. The only “terrible” thing I have to say about it is that the drawer is not on wheels and can be hard to pull out and does not pull out in a smooth motion. Otherwise, this is a fantastic quality piece of “furniture” that will be in our playroom for years on end.
